The last two days have been up and down...not quite like a roller coaster though. The physical manifestations of this detox are both good and bad. I was very tired on Sunday and Monday, and made sure I got a good nights sleep both nights. Luckily, or maybe it's my subconscious knowledge manifesting itself through my energy levels, I'm feeling on top of it right now at 11:23 PM (standard time-that's 12:23 EDST).
I can't lie and say that I haven't been burning the midnight oil since the end of August, because of the potent combination of school, limited time and procrastination. Tuesday nights are especially prone to seeing the clock tip over into the yang hours. You know, the point from where the sun starts rising up from the bottom of it's cycle, manifesting the most yang moment at sunrise and morphing into the yin at midday. Wednesday, the day of multiple exams, one right after the other, bang, bang, bang. I'm used to it now. I'm not freaking out as bad, going blank in the middle of a chemistry exam, and losing my composure.
My problem solving skills definitely take a dive after 10PM though. Yes, getting a good nights rest before tests is a bonus, but that has to be measured against actually studying for them. Let's see...sleep and don't study, or study and don't sleep? Oh, you are supposed to study in advance of 11:34PM the night before the exam! Someday I'll get that part down.
The physical manifestations of the detox, besides some fatigue, have been erratic headaches. Nothing like the monster I had before my "healing crisis" last year. Of course, I haven't had a healing crisis this time, which makes me feel like I am in better health now. In retrospect, I really am healthier now, and have been since the last detox. Today I also have some muscular soreness in the hips and lower back, but that hasn't stopped me from riding my bike everywhere I need to go. I feel a little weak riding up that big hill, from not eating my usual diet, but I also feel light and limber. The only other symptom of the detox was a rash on my abdomen which literally came and went within three or four hours. Oh yeah, there was that zit on my nose too! All gone now though. I've noticed some healing on a couple of spots of dry skin. I'm wondering if that is from dietary change or the detox.
It's been a long four daze. Just ask Tasha. I think she wanted a major healing crisis, so she could feel really bad , then really good. All she has gotten so far is feeling lousy and distracted from her school work. I don't know if that is a fair characterization of her experience, but since she is too busy and tired to do a blog entry (and she's asleep right now, I think), I'll go ahead and say that. Maybe that will get her ass in gear, and inspire some input. She has some interesting ideas, and a totally different perspective on the whole experience.
Challenging, yes. It hasn't been easy organizing all of the things you have to do to pull this off, starting a month ago, in addition to the normal routine. I'm just glad Tasha agreed to do this with me. It has definitely made it easier and it's nice to have someone to compare experiences with.
One more day.
